Norwegian Fjords7 miles0.5 hours

About this drive

Trollstigen, meaning 'Troll's Ladder,' is one of Norway's most iconic and exhilarating roads. The route climbs an almost vertical mountainside through 11 tight hairpin bends with a 9% gradient, threading past the roaring Stigfossen waterfall that plunges 320 metres. Situated in the Norwegian Scenic Route Geiranger-Trollstigen, the view from the summit visitor centre reveals the full serpentine spectacle of the road below. Open only from late May to October, this is Norway's most celebrated driving spectacle.
